Donald Trump Has 'More Reason' to Contest 2024 Election Results: Adam Schiff

In a recent interview on NBC's Meet the Press, Representative Adam Schiff expressed concerns that former President Donald Trump may once again challenge the outcome of the 2024 election. Schiff suggested that Trump could feel even more compelled to contest the results than he did in 2020, not due to any legitimate flaws in the election process, but because Trump may believe that losing could lead to serious legal consequences.

"He has more reason to contest it than before, not because of any flaw in the election, but because Donald Trump believes, and perhaps with reason, that if he doesn't succeed at the ballot box, he may be going to jail," Schiff, a California Democrat, explained.

Schiff further warned that Trump seems to be laying the groundwork for another fraudulent challenge, similar to his actions following the 2020 election. "He's going to challenge the results, and we saw tragically what happened when he did that four years earlier," Schiff continued. "And what's more, we see him laying the same foundation to fraudulently challenge the results once again, putting up the same big lies."

After losing to President Joe Biden in 2020, Trump repeatedly claimed that the election was stolen, despite a lack of credible evidence supporting widespread voter fraud. Last week, Trump reiterated these claims during a rally in Michigan. Schiff’s remarks followed the release of a 165-page court filing by special counsel Jack Smith, which was made public by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan. The filing included allegations that Trump had pressured then-Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the election results, becoming "incensed" when Pence declined. During the Capitol riot, Trump reportedly showed little concern for Pence’s safety.

Schiff, now running for the Senate, said Trump's disregard for others was deeply troubling. "It just reaffirmed what we know about Donald Trump—that he cares about no one except himself."

President Biden, during a White House press briefing last week, expressed confidence in a "free and fair" election in 2024 but voiced concerns about a peaceful transfer of power, given Trump’s previous actions. "This is the legacy of Donald Trump," Schiff added, "we now cannot go into an election with full confidence that the results will be peaceful."

  3. Anyone who has heard Trump mumble his strings of lies and nonsense should be able to realize he is not smart enough to generate the impact his campaign is having on this election. Obviously, there is a huge behind-the-scenes organization manipulating public opinion with Trump as the blathering figurehead. https://spiritually-speaking.net
