Donald Trump's Coup Is Already Underway: Mary Trump

Donald Trump is allegedly preparing to assert power regardless of the upcoming presidential election results, according to claims made by his niece, Mary Trump. She suggests that he is laying the groundwork for a "coup" to reclaim the White House.

Mary Trump, the daughter of Trump's late brother Fred, has been a vocal critic of her uncle, accusing him of cognitive decline and compulsive dishonesty. Recently, she alleged that Trump is already undertaking preparations for this coup, echoing concerns shared by numerous political figures, military leaders, and citizens who were shocked by the events of January 6, 2021. On that day, Trump supporters stormed the Capitol, believing his unfounded claims that the 2020 election was rigged against him following his defeat by Joe Biden.

A Colorado judge has since suggested that Trump's actions amounted to insurrection against the U.S. Constitution, with many participants in the riot facing legal consequences. Retired U.S. Admiral James Stavridis criticized Trump for referring to the convicted rioters as "hostages" and "patriots," despite their violent attempts to overturn the election results.

Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the prosecutions he faces are politically motivated efforts orchestrated by the Biden administration. He claims that it is actually the Democrats attempting to cheat the system, even as he confronts charges related to interference in the 2020 election. Previously, he dismissed Mary Trump as "a seldom seen niece who knows little about me," and is currently suing her for allegedly breaching a non-disclosure agreement.

On Monday, Mary Trump took to X (formerly Twitter), stating: "Donald's coup is already underway. His lies that the election is rigged against him undermine voters' faith in free and fair elections. He wants to be back in the White House and feels no need to play by the rules. His followers feel the same way." Her message reached 1.7 million followers and garnered significant engagement, with many users echoing her concerns. Comments included sentiments like, "It's been underway since 2020," and "The man is the epitome of 'Traitor'... he doesn't care about America."

However, not all responses were supportive. Some critics questioned Mary Trump’s motivations, with comments suggesting jealousy and questioning her professional credibility as a psychologist turned political commentator.

As polling day approaches in November, Trump is set to compete against Kamala Harris, with numerous surveys indicating a highly contentious race.
