At a recent rally in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, former President Donald Trump interrupted his speech to acknowledge a familiar supporter in the crowd, pointing toward a man standing with two women.
"I just spotted somebody—I didn’t know he’d be here," Trump said, inviting the man to stand up. "Look at these two ladies, and this guy has been right there with them from the start." He likened the group to "Front Row Joes," a term for the loyal supporters who frequently attend his rallies.
While Trump addressed his standard campaign themes, he also responded to recent statements by his political rivals. Citing President Joe Biden’s alleged reference to Trump supporters as “garbage,” Trump remarked, "Joe Biden finally said what he really thinks of our supporters—he called them ‘garbage.’ But I guarantee my supporters are far higher quality than ‘Crooked Joe’s.'" This echoed Trump’s recurring criticisms of Biden, asserting that Biden’s outlook alienates many Americans. "My answer is simple: You can’t lead America if you don’t love Americans," he said.
Trump’s speech continued with sharp criticism of the administration's immigration policies, which he labeled as detrimental to Americans. "We know what they believe," he commented, adding, "Look at how they’ve treated you—they’ve treated you like garbage." As in past speeches, he underscored his stance on securing U.S. borders and protecting citizens’ interests.
Turning to economic issues, Trump dismissed Harris’s proposals, calling them “the ideas of a simpleton” and asserting, "They won’t work." When an audience member shouted, "She’s an idiot!" referring to Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump smiled and repeated, "He screams, ‘She’s an idiot,’ but I didn’t say it."
He then introduced a video montage showing Harris mentioning him multiple times in a recent speech. Afterward, he joked, "She has a serious case of Trump Derangement Syndrome," suggesting many Democrats share the same sentiment.
As he wrapped up, Trump asserted that enthusiasm for his current campaign outshines both his 2016 and 2020 runs. Once more, he described Harris as a “low IQ individual” and suggested Democrats are focused on "a campaign of hate, anger, and retribution," contrasting it with what he described as his hopeful vision for America.
