Brittany Mahomes has strongly criticized those who have been attacking her online, following the backlash over a post she reportedly liked on Instagram from Donald Trump.

In an Instagram story, Brittany Mahomes shared a message that read, "To be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep-rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."

This statement was posted after some of her followers, who are also fans of her husband, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, claimed that she had liked a post on Trump’s Instagram account. The post in question outlined the Republican Party’s 2024 election platform, which included controversial points such as deporting "pro-Hamas radicals" and keeping "men out of women’s sports."

Despite circulating screenshots and a video suggesting that she had liked the post, a review by *Newsweek* found that her account was not among the over 400,000 likes on the post. Brittany Mahomes has never publicly endorsed any political candidate, nor has she liked any other posts from Trump. Additionally, she does not follow Trump on Instagram.

Nonetheless, the alleged like sparked outrage among her followers, including fans of Taylor Swift, who began following Brittany after Swift started dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Some critics harshly accused Brittany Mahomes of supporting Trump, with one person tweeting, "Brittany Mahomes just outed herself as a Trump supporter." Another criticized her by stating, "Patrick Mahomes, imagine marrying someone who doesn't care about your rights and your kid's rights."

Patrick Mahomes has previously avoided endorsing any candidates, emphasizing the importance of voter participation without aligning himself with any specific political figure. In April, he told *Time* magazine that he didn’t want to pressure anyone into voting for a particular candidate but encouraged fans to "use their voice" and do their own research.

Brittany Mahomes has also been in the spotlight for her close friendship with Taylor Swift, as they’ve been seen together at Chiefs games and on outings with Selena Gomez and Sophie Turner. However, their budding friendship faced scrutiny when fans unearthed old tweets from Brittany’s teenage years, where she seemingly criticized Swift. One of the tweets read, "Taylor Swift... I wanna know when you're gonna find something different to write about besides boys and relationships." These tweets have since been deleted.
