Laura Loomer Responds to Bill Maher Quip on 'Arranged' Trump Relationship

Far-right activist Laura Loomer swiftly responded on Saturday to comedian Bill Maher’s lighthearted comment regarding her alleged "arranged" relationship with former President Donald Trump.

Loomer, a vocal Trump advocate, denied any personal relationship with the former president, rejecting Maher’s suggestion that she was romantically involved with Trump to influence the upcoming November election. Maher’s comment lacked any evidence and was delivered in a humorous tone.

During his HBO show, *Real Time with Bill Maher*, Maher said on Friday, "Laura Loomer claimed that Taylor Swift is in an 'arranged relationship' with Travis Kelce to sway the 2024 election. Well, I think maybe *Laura Loomer* is in an arranged relationship to influence the election, considering how close she is to Trump."

The Swift-Kelce relationship, which started in fall 2023, has sparked conspiracy theories in some Republican circles, suggesting it is part of a broader Democratic strategy to affect the election. There is no credible evidence supporting these theories. Swift, a pop icon, has recently endorsed Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate for 2024.

Maher added a twist by referencing Trump's history with younger women. In the 1990s, Trump made headlines for his affair with Marla Maples, who became his second wife. His third wife, Melania Trump, was 34 when they married, while Trump was 58.

"Laura’s 31—definitely fits Trump’s type," Maher joked. "A while back, we did an editorial called ‘Who’s Trump F***ing?’ because it’s clearly not nobody. He’s been a womanizer too long, and it’s not Melania. Maybe this week we got our answer—Laura Loomer."

Loomer fired back on X (formerly Twitter) early Saturday, writing, "I should sue Bill Maher for defamation" and called his remarks "a complete and blatant lie."

In a separate X post, she further criticized Maher, writing, "I’ve never seen such a coordinated attack by the media, the White House, and leftist personalities against a private citizen simply because I support Donald Trump." She added that Maher’s comments were "unacceptable" and disrespectful to both Trump and Melania.

Loomer appeared alongside Trump at two 9/11 memorial events earlier that week. Her presence followed a racially charged attack she made on Kamala Harris, where she disparaged Harris’s Indian ancestry. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene called Loomer’s comments "appalling and extremely racist," with other Republicans also condemning them.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre criticized Trump's association with Loomer, saying, "No leader should associate with someone spreading such racist poison."

When asked about Loomer, Trump responded, "I don’t know much about it. I know she’s a big fan of the campaign. She brings a certain energy that many people have. She’s just very passionate, and she hates seeing what’s happened to the country."
